Best Ever Gold-Topped Brownie Recipe
Today I wanted to share my Best Ever Brownie Recipe, which I love to top with gold leaf for a really luxurious and decadent look. A crunchy top and squidgy middle, these brownies make the perfect accompaniment to your afternoon cup of tea, or served up with ice cream for dessert.
(makes 8 massive brownies)
450g caster sugar
5 free-range eggs
110g plain flour
55g cocoa powder
145g dark chocolate (70% or higher)
2 x Edible Gold Leaf Sheets (for decoration)
Preheat the oven to 190C/375F/Gas 5.
Line a 20x30cm baking tin with baking parchment.
Slowly melt the sugar and butter together in a large pan.
Once melted, take off the heat and mix in the rest of the ingredients (except the gold leaf).
Pour into your baking tin and bake for 30-40 minutes.
Take out of the oven and leave to cool in the tin.
Once cool, adorn with pieces of edible gold leaf for a luxe look.
Finally, cut up into squares and serve.
Hope you enjoy making these chocolatey treats!
